Rufus is a freeware that can be used to create a bootable USB / flash disk, it is helpful if you want to create installation media from USB (Windows, Linux, etc.).
The use bootable USB flash drive (flash, memory stick and others) would be very beneficial for the owner of a computer technician or a laptop, especially netbook or notebook that does not have a CD / DVD drive. In addition to a faster installation process compared to using CD / DVD media, using the USB, enables us to update the BIOS, password recovery, examine and analyze an operating system.
Operating Systems supported Windows Rufus is Windows XP (SP2 or higher), Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. Rufus also supports Linux as Arch Linux, Hiren's Boot CD, Parted Magic, Knoppix, Ubuntu, OpenSuSE, CentOS, Fedora and various other distroLinux.
Very easy to use. Once downloaded can be directly executed (portable). Select the USB drive, locate the ISO and press the start button to begin the transfer process. Do not forget to backup the contents of the flash for Rufus will automatically format the flash you are using. This utility also has an option FreeDOS, so you can use it to boot the computer or laptop in DOS mode. Very useful and easier for you to perform a BIOS upgrade process that requires a DOS command prompt.
